COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

HARMONY ARTS works with schools, social service agencies and other community programs to provide individually tailored programs, designed to reach diverse populations and fit the needs of participants. Partnerships can include classes, workshops, inservices, consulting, networking and community referrals.

2010 Community Partnerships include:

Ryther Child Center - Therapeutic movement groups for kids 5-13yrs with acute emotional \ behavioral challenges who live in residential care, teens 13-17yrs in inpatient chemical dependency treatment, outpatient clients 9-13yrs with aspergers, ADHD & other challenges. Scholarships for residential clients to attend community classes.

The Samarya Center - Networking, referrals, S.K.Y demonstration, shared Integrated Movement Therapy inservices.

Fostering Together - Inservice and training for central district foster and adoptive parents. Networking to provide foster kids scholarships through little wishes program.

Evergreen State College Tacoma - Inservice and workshop for diverse and untraditional student population.

Bethany Ministries - Inservice and networking to provide programs for traumatized children.

Madrona Pre-school - In school movement program for pre-schoolers.

Seattle Girls School - In school Self-defense, Kung Fu & Yoga program for girls 5th-8th grade.

Central District Educational Fair - Information & resource booth for low income central area public school students and their families.

Washington State Women's Correctional Facility - Self-defense workshop for incarcerated mothers and their daughters.

Girls Beyond Bars - Self-defense workshops for incarcerated mothers and their daughters.

Friends of the Children - Providing resources and scholarships to "at risk" children and youth.

Odessa Brown - Variety of classes, workshops, inservices and networking for low income youth and families. Scholarships for children to attend community classes.
